Hangeul is the native alphabet of the Korean language. It was created in the 15th century under the rule of King Sejong the Great of the Joseon Dynasty. Before Hangeul, the Korean language was written using Chinese characters, which were difficult to learn and use for the majority of the Korean population.
King Sejong believed that the creation of a simple and easy-to-learn writing system would help improve literacy and make government administration more efficient. To this end, he assembled a group of scholars and linguists to develop a new writing system that would reflect the sounds of the Korean language.
The team came up with Hangeul, a phonetic alphabet that consisted of 28 letters representing the sounds of the Korean language. Hangeul's creation was based on the principles of simplicity, scientific accuracy, and ease of use. The alphabet was designed to be easy to learn and use for everyone, regardless of their social status or education level.

Hangeul was initially met with resistance by scholars who believed that it was too simple and unsophisticated. However, King Sejong saw the value in the new writing system and pushed for its widespread adoption. Over time, Hangeul gained popularity among the general population, and by the 20th century, it had become the primary writing system for the Korean language.
Today, Hangeul is recognized as one of the most efficient and logical writing systems in the world, and it remains a testament to the ingenuity of King Sejong and his team of scholars.
